Four ways to browse your collection — tap a tab to switch views.
Browse thousands of games with lightning-fast search. Filter by platform, genre, year and more. Grid, List, Coverflow, Shelf, and Timeline views — pick how you like to browse.
Open any game in a full-screen exhibit — box front and back (tap to flip), screenshots, the manual, cart and disc art, developer history, and the soundtrack with a clickable track list. A digital gaming museum, not just a launcher.
Pick from System, Synthwave '84, Nocturne, Retro Purple, Ocean Blue, Forest Green or Midnight Glass — each with its own accent gradient and mood. Synthwave '84 even ships with an optional CRT scanline overlay for that parallel-world-'80s feel.
A soft, blurred wash of the selected game's artwork fills the window, Steam-library style — and the interface subtly tints to match the platform: amber for DOS, red for Nintendo, cyan for Sega, neon green for arcade. All optional, in Settings → Theme.
Leave it idle with a soundtrack playing and NostalgiApp becomes an ambient display — an album-art mosaic, a spinning vinyl record, a live audio visualizer, and subtle branding. Perfect for a second screen.
Automatic soundtrack playback while you browse, with now-playing cover art in the player bar. Import your own albums and supports MP3, FLAC, OGG, M4A, WAV and AAC.
Track play counts, total playtime, and when you last played each game. See your most played titles, playtime by platform and genre, and jump back into recently played games.
Full-screen gallery with smooth zoom, pan and a thumbnail filmstrip. Explore box art, screenshots and media for every game in your collection.

From classic DOS games to modern console emulation, NostalgiApp has you covered.
Get started with NostalgiApp in minutes.
Requires macOS Ventura or later. Optimized for Apple Silicon with SwiftUI.
Download eXoDOS (Lite or Full) directly from the app, or import your existing eXo collections.
NostalgiApp automatically detects and configures DOSBox, ScummVM, RetroArch, and standalone emulators.
eXoDOS is a curated collection of over 7,000 DOS games with metadata, artwork, and configurations. It was built for Windows. NostalgiApp is the Mac app that imports it cleanly — no Wine, no virtual machine, no manual XML editing.
Download eXoDOS Lite (curated subset, ~few hundred games, smaller download) or eXoDOS Full (the full 7,000+ collection) directly from inside NostalgiApp. Or import a collection you already have on disk.
NostalgiApp parses the eXoDOS metadata, imports box art and screenshots, and writes per-game DOSBox configs — mount points, CPU cycles, mouse settings, all of it. You browse coverflow, click, play.
Same automatic import for the eXoScummVM (LucasArts and Sierra adventure games) and eXoWin9x (Win 3.x and Windows 9x era) collections. NostalgiApp handles ScummVM and DREAMM auto-configuration for adventure-game purists.
NostalgiApp is a native macOS SwiftUI app. The DOS games run in DOSBox (also native). LaunchBox itself never existed for Mac — this is the Mac-native answer.

Searching for LaunchBox for Mac? It’s the king on Windows but doesn’t exist for Mac — never has, no plans to. OpenEmu is the long-standing free Mac option but caps out around 2001-era consoles, no DOS, no eXoDOS, and active development has slowed. EmulationStation works on Mac but requires manual setup for everything — great if you want to tinker, painful if you want to play. NostalgiApp is the LaunchBox-equivalent that’s actually built for Mac in 2026: native SwiftUI, automatic eXoDOS / eXoScummVM / eXoWin9x import, RetroArch integration for everything else, weekly updates, €19.99 one-time.
